Rising Stars: Esme Creed-Miles

17 10 2018

Esme Creed-Miles, the daughter of actors Samantha Morton and Charlie Creed-Miles, got her acting career off to an early start (at just seven years old), playing a Shirley Temple impersonator in Harmony Korine's 2007 film Mister Lonely, starring next to her mother in the comedy drama.

She didn't return to her parents' craft however until 2017 when she was chosen to play a teenage version of Ruth Wilson in Clio Barnard's film Dark River. The budding young actress has been selected to play the lead role in Hanna, a TV adaptation of Joe Wright's 2011 blockbuster about a girl with extraordinary skills, trying to evade capture from the CIA. The role, played by Saoirse Ronan in the original film, sees Creed-Miles star next to RoboCop and Suicide Squad actor Joel Kinnaman, and the Amazon series is expected to screen in 2019.
